It’s almost time for the next sleep over and I haven’t told you about the last one yet! The three boys (from Fikelela Child and Youth Care Centre) were very impressed that we arrived in a different car and couldn’t wait to get going. The weather was surprisingly nice, so we decided to go to Root 44 market which has a lovely play area for the children. Soccer, jungle gyms, mini zipline, go-carting and somersaulting on the jumping castle kept them very busy and in need of lots of sunblock, water and doughnuts. Lunch was yummy pizza and bacon is now a firm favourite with these boys! The one boy is really thin and I have never seen him eat this much before!
We had bought a new Scalextric racing game and they were very excited to get home and set it up so that they could play with it. The youngest boy loves dressing up so much and just couldn’t wait to get the pirate, Spiderman and Batman gear on – all at the same time! Add some sun glasses and then you’re really cool! The boys all got along really well most of the time and played so nicely with each other. We had a braai for supper and they loved being able to help Ed with the fire. Melted marshmallows and sparklers happened after supper and then a movie, shower and bed.
Next morning they woke up (way too) bright and early! We had delicious flapjacks with chocolate sauce and maple syrup for breakfast, giving them lots of energy to keep playing! Went to Burger King for lunch and the littlest one always does the strangest thing – dips his chips in his fizzy drink! Oh well, each to his own... Then off to the new Games centre in the Mall where they went on the bumper cars, played a few games and went on a scary ride! We ended off the sleep over at the movies, watching Aladdin in 3D and munching on yummy popcorn.
A huge thank you goes to Anna and her lovely family for their wonderful donation which covered the costs of this sleep over!
